Euler records shutout in U-16 win over Colorado Rush

The Chicago Fire Academy teams settled for a split in six matches during last week's road trip to the Denver area.
The U-16 squad went 2-1 on the Colorado swing while the U-18 team went 1-2 in Central Conference Frontier Division play.
In Sunday's final day of the trip, the U-18 picked up a 2-1 win over Real Colorado while the U-16 fell 1-0 to the same club.
Wojciech Wojcik and Tyler Engel scored goals while Charlie Lyon recorded the win in the net for the U-18 squad on Sunday.
Earning starts for the U-18's on Sunday were Harry Shipp, Jesse Ortiz, Billy McGuinness, Scott Lakin and Marco Gutierrez.
Other starters for the winning team were Patrick Doody, Bryan Ciesiulka, Keegan Balle, Mitch Albrecht, Lyon and Engel.
In Sunday's other match in Englewood, Colorado, the U-16 team suffered its first loss in division play.
Starters for the U-16 were Victor Pineda, Luis Medina, Jesus Medina, Henrik Egly, Eduardo Cuatle and Johnny Contreras.
Also earning starts for the U-16 team on Sunday were Drew Conner, Elliot Borge, Peter Beasley, Zak Allen and Keaton Albert.
Things were reversed on Saturday as the U-16's won 1-0 and the U-18's fell fell 1-0 to the Colorado Rush AJ Auxerre teams.
In Saturday's U-16 match in Commerce City, Sam Euler recorded the shutout in goal while Conner collected the lone score.
Beside Euler, the only different starter for the U-16 from those began Sunday's match was David Caban.
Nine of Sunday's U-18 starters had the same role the day before with Trevor Wheeler and Manny Guzman the other two starters.
The two Fire Academy squads return to action on Easter Sunday when they meet up with the Chicago Magic for a pair of matches.
Action begins at 10 am with the U-16 match and the U-18's will follow at 12 pm at the College of DuPage stadium in Glen Ellyn.
